Viral Hepatitis

About Viral Hepatitis

Viral Hepatitis is an infection that disrupts the functioning of the liver. It causes inflammation of the liver. Hepatitis A virus causes Hepatitis A. It is a contagious liver infection. It transmits to a person from contaminated food or water or from close contact with a person or object that’s infected.

Hepatitis B virus gives birth to Hepatitis B. Prolonged hepatitis B infection increases the risk of liver failure, liver cancer, or cirrhosis. It becomes a cause of concern if the condition lasts for more than six months.

Liver infection that spreads through contaminated blood and causes liver inflammation is Hepatitis C. Prolong disease can lead to severe liver damage and may become fatal.

Hepatitis A

Diagnosis needs the person to undergo a blood test. Reports of the test clarify if a person has Hepatitis A virus in the body. There is no specific treatment for curing hepatitis A. It heals on its own within six months with no damage to the liver. However, experts recommend some tips and care remedies that help a person overcome the virus. The most important remains to rest and a controlled diet. Nausea makes it difficult to eat. But the body needs the energy to fight. Therefore, a person should shift to light, healthy snack meals instead of eating full meals.

Hepatitis B

Diagnosis involves undergoing a blood test. A blood test detects signs of the hepatitis B virus in the body and indicates the intensity. Experts may recommend Liver ultrasound and liver biopsy to check the liver damage intensity. The best and most effective treatment for viral infection is prevention and consulting a doctor immediately after exposure to the factors that contribute to developing Hepatitis B. Treatment includes taking oral medicines that help the virus fight and slow its ability to damage the liver. The severely damaged liver may need a liver transplant.

Hepatitis C

Diagnosis tests attempt to trace the liver damage through Hepatitis C using tests like MRE, Liver biopsy, and blood tests. Treatment comes in the form of antiviral medicines. Severe damage may arise the need for a liver transplant. Signs and symptoms of Hepatitis C are jaundice, along with fatigue, nausea, fever, and muscle aches. They appear after one week of exposure to the virus and last two weeks to three months. However, sometimes they appear late and last long.
